I wanted to start with Schiller because he best exemplifies what history is and why we should bother with it at all. Furthermore, Schiller is one of those genius that we have the privilege to read, much like Shakespeare and his works on history. Both great authors understood and captured the essence of Universal History, their work speaks for itself.
